|BASIC SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND STAFF FOR ADULT FUNERAL SERVICE
Our fee for the basic services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to, staff to respond to initial request for service, arrangement conference with family and responsible parties; arrangement of funeral service; preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits; recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary notice; and coordination with those providing other portions of the funeral service, e.g., cemetery, vault companies and others as required. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facility, such as professional licensing, legal and accounting fees, insurance, building and utility expenses, parking lot and grounds maintenance, taxes, equipment, furnishings, inventory costs, record keeping, and secretarial and administrative expenses. This fee is non-deductible. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select.
Embalming is not required by law. Embalming is necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as Direct Cremation or Immediate Burial. (It is Chapel Of The Pines policy that there will be no viewing of an unembalmed body. An unembalmed body must be encased in a container which insures against seepage of fluid and escape of offensive odor.)
|OTHER PREPARATION OF THE DECEASED
This is for service rendered in the preparation of the body other than embalming. These services may include, but are not limited to, bathing, disinfecting, cosmetology, dressing and placing the body in the casket or alternative container.
